Thuy Hoang

Thuy Hoang

Thuy Hoang was born in Saigon, Vietnam. She came to the United Kingdom at the age of nine as a refugee with her family. In 2023, she was a Quarter Finalist on BBC1's MasterChef in the UK. Thuy is passionate about the vibrant food culture of Vietnam and her activities in the food industry are diverse.

 

Thuy has a YouTube channel through which she shares films of her dishes. She has given on-stage cooking demonstrations at major food shows and festivals throughout the UK and Ireland to spotlight Vietnamese cuisine. In 2024, her work has taken her, for example, to festivals: in Kilkenny, Ireland; at Knebworth House and Ashridge House, Hertfordshire; at Lydiard Park, Wiltshire; at Dinton Pastures, Berkshire; and at The Hurlingham Club, Fulham, London. She has also been chef for supper clubs, including for central London businesses and events. Additionally, she is guest chef for various cookery schools, including Jeremy Pang's award-winning School of Wok in Covent Garden, London. Thuy is also a member of the judging panels for the UK’s three most prestigious food industry awards: the UK Quality Food Awards, the Great Taste Awards (Guild of Fine Food), and the Great British Food Awards. She has also published food articles, recipes and restaurant reviews in magazines, including a two-page spread “Fire up flavour” in Great British Food this year.
